錄取之後--如何用信件爭取獎學金?!

  這是留學版版友詢問我，有關拿到admission後的獎學金爭取，以下是我的回信：

  某校MBA 如果有獎學金的話，是妳現在的top 1 choice嗎?
  有關於獎學金的爭取，我覺得第一個步驟是，需要由內心積極爭取，
  其中最強烈的表示就是，告訴學校這個program就是自己最理想
  的目標。(但是我覺得，如果做出這麼強烈的表示，最後拿到獎
  學金的話，最好還是要真的去就讀，以免枉費這一番溝通。)
                                                                              
  以下是我曾經用過的話：

                                                                             
  To attend a MBA program and studying abroad is a once-a-life
  decision for me, and I consider the C School is my most
  desired place to have my education not only for career consideration,
  but for family reason. 以下解釋我的狀況
                                                                              
  在這裡，妳可以把這些換成妳為甚麼最心儀這個學校的理由，但是
  很強烈的表示這是妳的最理想學校。然後說明妳目前獎學金的情形，
  已經有其他數個學校給妳獎學金，代表妳是夠competitive的candidate:

  

  However, as I have been already admitted by Puxxxx  and other MBA programs

  with scholarships, and would have to make a decision before mid-April,

  I would like to know when would I expect to learn about the admission

  (在這裡可以換成financial aid) result of C School.

                                                                                

  然後，因為financial aid/scholarship通常和助教、校內行政工作有關

  我會說明之前我所做過的"學校工作"和表現。

                                                                                

  Meanwhile, I have abundant experiences in research and TA-ship since

  college, and look forward to working with professors in research or

  teaching during my study. I have been first author and presented papers

  in international conferences in management--IAMOT and R&D management.

  In graduate school, I had TA-ship for three semesters: Economics 101

  (two semesters) and Math. Methods for Economic Analysis. I won the award

  of Best Teaching Assistant of the Semester in the Economics department

  voted by students and faculties.

                                                                                

  這一段，妳也可以用自己的類似經驗來取代，例如有類似家教的教學經驗、

  或是做義工的經驗等，重點是說服學校，妳有擔任assistant的能耐。

  以上，大概是我爭取financial aid/scholarship時會說到的，板友slm

  在申請教育phd的文章分享中也提到類似的概念，除了提到自己現有的

  戰果、證明是一個好的applicant外，我們應強調自己在做assistantship的

  能力，說服學校"雇用"我們。
